IQUITOS TO TABATINGA / LETICIA - 4 Days / 3 Nights
The flagship of our fleet, the M / V Rio Amazonas, is an iron-hulled vessel built in Edinburg in 1896 and was originally used to carry rubber in the Amazon. Completely remodeled in 1994 and returned to in 2001, is now an elegant boat, comfortable and ideal for navigating on the rivers of the Amazon. The M / V Rio Amazonas carries 44 passengers in 21 cabins with air-conditioning and adequate pathways that allow us to explore the Amazon and its people. The boat has very wide areas, protected and unprotected areas, with comfortable chairs and hammocks so you can enjoy watching life in the rivers Amazon. Rooms located on the main deck all have air-conditioning, private bath / shower, panoramic windows, two lower beds with reading lights and a small closet. Rooms located on the third deck are slightly larger, have two low beds and a wardrobe. The boat also has a deck of rooms for passengers traveling with limited expenditure. Amazon Cruises operate from Iquitos, Peru to Leticia, Colombia and Tabatinga, Brazil. Departure days are Sunday and Wednesday. Cruising upstream is the opposite, leaving Leticia / Tabatinga on Wednesday and arriving Iquitos on Saturday
Meals are a combination of the best in regional and international cuisine including fresh meats and fish, salads and exotic fruits. Also on board with coffee, tea and purified water 24 hours a Day. Special diets can be offered if communicated in advance. The boat has a bar set that includes a variety of drinks and fruit juice. All our guides are multi-lingual, with a lot of personality and experience. The crew on board is very friendly and helpful. The boat also has small boats with outboard motors for use during the trips. The boat is open 24 hours a day and in radio communication with our operations office in Iquitos.
Day 1: Sunday
Transfer airport / hotel to the pier to deal with the M / V Rio Amazonas, while we sail downstream to appreciate the variety and beauty of the landscapes along the riverbank. In the afternoon visit to a local distillery of sugar cane in the area Yanamono, followed by a hike through the jungle on the island to see Camaleón aquatic plants called Victoria Regia.
Day 2: Monday
At dawn, boat trip to observe birds in the Rio Ampiyacu. Visit the Bora and Huitoto. Visit to the village of Pevas, the oldest community in the Peruvian Amazon. In the afternoon, walking through the jungle in the area of Rio Shishita with ample opportunities to observe wildlife.
Day 3: Tuesday
Morning walk through the jungle and visit to the village of Paranaquiro, followed by an excursion boat for fishing piranhas in a lake nearby. In the afternoon, a brief visit to the town of Cocha Cabacho. After sunset, cross the lake to observe alligators and hear the sounds of the jungle

Day 4: Wednesday
Very early morning arrival at Santa Rosa Island, Peru, as opposed to the cities of Leticia / Tabatinga. * Transfer to the hotel or airport Leticia or Tabatinga.
