The M / V Aqua is 30 metre flagship of Aqua Expeditions. Its 12 luxurious suites, designed by architect Jordi Puig Peruvian interior designer and internationally recognized, measured between 21 and 22 square meters and feature large panoramic windows and living room. All have air conditioning and four of them are interconnected to accommodate families. Guests can spend their free time in the dining room at the bar, on deck and in the observation lounge outside. We also have a small boutique. Be served by a crew of 16 people, plus 3 naturalist guides.
DAY 1 - Saturday: Iquitos / Río Amazonas
5:00 p.m. Arrival
The guides are waiting for you, while your flight from Lima glides through the skies, landing at Iquitos International Airport.
After you have collected your luggage, board an air-conditioned bus to be transferred to the main dock in Iquitos, where our boat, AQUA, remains anchored, waiting for your arrival.
While you get acquainted with your spacious room, the boat will begin the journey through the Rio Yanayacu, deep in the Amazon. Within the following days, you will sail along the two largest tributaries of the Amazon River, the Ucayali and the Marañón and the mighty Amazon itself. You will embark on a spectacular adventure, to a place only visited by some of the most experienced world travelers.
8:00 p.m. Orientation and Safety On-Board
Before dinner, we gather on the upper deck to have a safety on board briefing. Then, the Cruise Director and naturalist guides will give you a brief orientation talk about life on board, about places we go and what you see during your trip through the Amazon.
8:30 p.m. Welcome Dinner
Peruvian cuisine is considered one of the best in the world. This is presented here with a European touch, many dishes with a fine selection of South American wines. While enjoying these delicacies, watch the river and surrounding area through our panoramic windows.
Before retiring to rest, please enjoy a cocktail on the top deck under the stars
Day 2 - Sunday: Amazon River / Lake Tahuayo and Charo
6:30 a.m. Breakfast
Wake up early and enjoy the beautiful view of sunrise. Enjoy our delicious breakfast DAYrio, which presents a wide variety of dishes, plus Peruvian specialties and fresh fruit juices.
7:30 a.m. Exploration Tahuayo by the River and Lake Fishing Charo
This morning you will board a comfortable boat to sail from the Amazon River through the shortcut channel Huaysi and explore the dark waters of the river - the Tahuayo. Life jackets, ponchos, rubber boots, and fresh water is always available on our boats. As you navigate through the river Tahuayo, watching some fishermen paddling in their canoes. Keep your binoculars ready for a great variety of wildlife: swallows, tropical song birds, blackbirds, black-necked hawks, monkeys and sloths, sharing this wonderful place with us. Upon our arrival at Charo Lake, you can use their tools to try to catch fish from the ferocious piranhas and other types of fish. While fishing, our naturalist guides will tell you the history of the lake and its inhabitants.
11:00 a.m. Return to AQUA
Refreshing towels waiting for you, while moving back on board the AQUA. While the ship continues its journey through the Amazon River, you will have free time to rest or take a nap before lunch.
1:00 p.m. Lunch
Enjoy a light lunch in our dining room with air conditioning.
4:00 p.m.Explore the Yacapana Islands and visit the dolphins
The locals call Yacapana Islands "Islands of the Iguana" due to the large number of these reptiles - dinosaurs that seem small - which inhabit them. Amazon beliefs say that if someone touches an iguana, that person will develop some of its features, and nobody wants to look like them, the reason these animals are well protected.
We come very close to board the boats, giving you the chance to take good pictures. As the sun set, you will have the opportunity to see and photograph the dolphins freshwater gray and pink. Amazonian peoples have the belief that these animals become humans to get their people to men and women of great beauty, popular during the celebrations.
6:30 p.m. Towards the Birth of the River
Return to AQUA to continue our journey upstream, toward the source of the Amazon River, where the Maranon and Ucayali rivers join to form. Before dinner, we recommend you drink as an aperitif "pisco sour" on the upper deck, while watching the sunset.
8:00 p.m. Dinner
Day 3 - Monday: Ríver Marañon / National Reserve of Pacaya-Samiria (Nauta Caño and Yanayacu-Pucate)
6:30 a.m. Breakfast
Today, you can choose between two options:
Option 1: A full Day excursion with lunch - picnic at Ranger Station No. 2
7:30 a.m. A full Day excursion to the Ranger Station No. 2
Travel by boat from the stream to the remote Yanayacu Chingana, a small creek where giant river otter usually nest. These beautiful animals were slaughtered in large numbers for their fur and are now endangered. On this excursion, you can also appreciate howler monkeys and capuchin monkeys - squirrel pink river dolphins and gray and a variety of birds. So take a deep jungle, where you will find wildlife and learn first hand about the importance of the medicinal value of rainforest plants. We'll show you the famous Ceiba tree, the highest in the Amazon basin. Enjoy a generous picnic lunch at Ranger Station No. 2, before starting the journey back to our boat.
4:00 p.m. Arrival to AQUA
Option 2: Guided walk through the jungle / Siesta / Monkey and ship to watch dolphins
8:30 a.m. Guided Walk in the Jungle Ranger Station No. 1
This morning, the Park Ranger will tell you about sustainable development projects in Amazonia. You will visit one of the projects, where residents planted to oil palm. The rangers also will show you the artificial nests created on the sand to protect turtle eggs.
11:00 a.m. Back to AQUA
12:30 p.m. Lunch, followed by a nap
4:00 p.m. Expedition to observe monkeys and dolphins
In this issue you will appreciate the two different types of freshwater dolphins - including the rare pink dolphins found in the Amazon River. In addition, you will appreciate a variety of primates - among the 13 species of monkeys from park residents: howling and squirrel monkeys, apes and monkeys, pygmy marmosets. Look for alligators, and keep your binoculars ready as you will see over 200 species of birds.

7:30 p.m. Dinner
8:30 p.m. Additional Night Excursion
Tonight board the boats in search of alligators, boas, tarantulas and toads. After this adventure, nightlife, the Aqua will start sailing downstream on the Marañon River, toward the tributaries of the Amazon
Day 4 - Tuesday: Birth of the Amazonas / Puerto Miguel Town / River Marayali
5.30 a.m. Birth of the Amazonas
This morning, AQUA cross the boundaries of the vast reserve of Pacaya Samiria, dense vegetation covering five million acres in the tributaries of the Amazon basin. Get up early and ready in his boat at 5:30 am to see one of the biggest shows in the southern hemisphere: the sunrise on the birth of the Amazon River. Here in the union of the two largest tributaries, the Ucayali and the Marañon, form the most impressive waterfall in the world - nature in its splendor. His morning excursion will be accompanied by rich sounds of birds, while you walk in our boats across the river banks populated by swallows long beak, laughing falcons, exotic short-tailed parrots and dozens of other birds.

8:30 a.m. Puerto Miguel Villa
Travel by boat to the native village of Puerto Miguel, where you can meet and interact with local residents of this remote part of the world and learn more about their culture, traditions and folklore. You will also have the opportunity to exchange goods for local handicrafts.

12:30 p.m. Lunch
Share a last lunch onboard with the friends he has made during his journey through the Amazon.
1:30 p.m. Disembarkation
AQUA's landing in the small town of Nauta, where our air-conditioned transportation will be waiting for you. Enjoy a tour of 1 ½ hours to Iquitos International Airport. Your guides will help you with your luggage and register and remain with you until you address your return flight to Lima.
