City and Canal Tour

Duration:7hrs

You leave your hotel and head for the most attractive and interesting features of the Capital City, including the ruins of Old Panama City that was invaded by pirate Henry Morgan in 1671 and then was burned and destroyed . We visit the residential area of Altos del Golf, where the controversial dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega used to live. Then we went to La Ciudad Colonial or Old Town built in 1673 and where the French led by Ferdinand de Lesseps started the project of building the Panama Canal.

Also visit the Museum of the Panama Canal Interoceanic exhibiting antiques related to the construction of the canal. Around lunchtime, we went to a restaurant to enjoy lunch at a Panamanian restaurant typical.

After lunch we visit the modern sector of the city. Finally we continue to the charming Balboa area, residential area and the Canal Zone reverted to Panamanian hands. Admire the Administration Building of the Channel.

We continue to the Miraflores Locks, where the operation of the canal and the boats can be seen as they pass the locks. Finally, we will have the audio-visual Panama Canal Commission, which explains the operation of this waterway. Return to the hotel.
