Anton Valley

Duration: 8 hours

The Anton Valley is one of the most vivid of the Interior of Panama. Located two hours from Panama City in the province of Cocle and at 600 meters above sea level, we find the beautiful Valle de Anton. Geologists have concluded that the valley is the crater of a dormant volcano, probably the largest in Central America. The pleasant temperatures induce the visitor to explore its attractions. (You will find the Canopy Tour which consists of a system of steel cables that run along the forest canopy and using special harnesses you can walk. This tour is optional.).

On Sunday, if possible plan your trip to this day, the trip will take you to the Indian market where local artisans and Indians in the vicinity bring products to sell. There you can find hand-carved wood, soap stone sculptures, souvenirs made of shells, leather and more. Then we will visit the El Chorro Macho, a waterfall that is within a private nature reserve.

It also visit the Indian petroglyphs, ancient culture where some left their messages. Currently, these are a mystery to our modern society. Also, admire the mountain of india Dormida. His name is apparently the same with a woman india sleeping. Finally, visit the medlar, a zoo where animals take care of some endemic species which are recovered after being found injured in the jungle. The Níspero has a unique collection of orchids, here you can also admire the golden frogs, square trees and rare both in danger of extinction.

Lunch in a local restaurant. Return to Panama in the afternoon.
