DAY 1: EASTER ISLAND
Reception at airport with flower necklaces and transfer to selected hotel.
DAY 2: EASTER ISLAND
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day tour to visit Vaihu, Akahanga and Rano Raraku. This volcano, situated north east of Hanga Roa is one of the biggest and most valuable archaeological sites of the island since it is the site of the open quarry where the moai were sculpted. Visit to Ahu Tongakiri and Te Pito Kura, two archaeological monuments. Heki’I is the largest and Te Pito Kura (Bellybutton of the world) is a perfectly round stone sculpture, the biggest moai to be transported. There will also be a visit to Ahu Nau Nau, with a picnic at Anakena Beach, a swimming beach known for its warm and crystal-like waters as well as for the captivating luminosity and its dazzling coral wildlife. Return to hotel.
DAY 3: EASTER ISLAND
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning half-day tour to visit the ancient ceremonial centre Orango and the Rano Kau volcano crater. It was in this place that the most important ceremony of the second period of the island took place. Visit to Vinapu, archaeological site consisting of two Ahus (Ceremonial platforms with moai) in ruins. The moai that crowned the structure were knocked down, located east of Mataveri airport near the coast. Ana Kai Tangata, situated on the southern cliffs of Hanga Roa in Mantaveri, is a spacious cave where paintings of “manu” (birds) can be appreciated on the ceiling. Return to hotel.
DAY 4: EASTER ISLAND
Breakfast at the hotel. Half-day tour to Ahu Akivi (7 moai) archaeological centre in Roihi, the first scientifically-restored centre of the island during the 1960’s. Visit to Ana Tepahu caverns and Puna Pau quarry, located east of Hanga Roa in a small, red crater. Return to hotel.
DAY 5: ISLA DE PASCUA
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure. Visitors can carry out personal activities or take optional tours.
DAY 6: ISLA DE PASCUA
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to airport at prearranged time. Farewell ceremony with flower necklaces.
