4 Day Essential San Pedro de Atacama
 

(3 days – 2 Nights)
DAY 1: SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA
Arrival, reception and transfers to hotel from airport or Bus Terminal. At 16.00 hours: departure from hotel to Valle de la Luna. There will be a stop along the San Pedro-Calama road to photograph the Codillera de la Sal from the lookout. Following this stop there will be a visit to Valle de la Muerte. Then, at the Valle de la Luna, the “Tres Marias” salt statues will be visited as well as the salt mines and caves. Finally dusk will be observed from the great sand dune before returning to the hotel.

DAY 2: SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA
07:00 hours departure. Morning visit to Atacama Salt Deposits, where travellers will be able to observe the salt forms caused by evaporation of underground waterways. Visit to the Chaxa Lagoon and its beautiful wildlife such as flamingos and native birds such as Caiti and Andes Gulls. Following this we will pass through the Toconao town, a great freshwater oasis with fruit trees, whose symbol is the 1750’s bell tower. We will then border the salt basin towards the volcanic rock-built town of Socaire, located at 3250 meters above sea level. Later we will reach the tableland lagoons of Miniques and Miscanti, located at 4000 metres above sea level, 110 km from San Pedro de Atacama formed over 1 million years ago following the eruption of the Miniques volcano. Lunch will be served at Socaire. Return to San Pedro de Atacama at 19:00 hours approximately.

DAY 4: SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA
Departure from hotel at 04:00 hours. Arrival at Tatio Geysers (4320 m) at 07:00. Breakfast and guided hike through the geysers where tourists will have the opportunity to bathe in the thermal springs. Visit to Caspana town (old town and church), el Pukara de Lasana, Loa River valley petro glyphs, Inca Coya Lagoon and the Chiu-Chiu town and church. Return to Calama at 14:00 hours approximately. Transfer to airport or Calama bus terminal at prearranged time.
