Flying over Cabo de Hornos and the mythical waters of the Drake sea to the King George Island, the largest one of the Southern Shetland Archipelago, you will be at the gate of the White Continent.
From Isla Rey Jorge you will sail for six days and five nights through the Antarctic Peninsula visiting and enjoying the marvellous landscapes and its wildlife. During the expedition we offer informative talks to teach our guests about the great Continent.

Itinerary:

DAY 1: PUNTA ARENAS
Arrival at Punta Arenas where you will be met by Antartica XXI staff and transferred to the hotel selected. During the afternoon, before dinner, you will receive instructions regarding the rules in Antarctica and the embarking/disembarking procedures. Following this we will enjoy a welcome dinner at Hotel Jose Nogueira, centenary French-style mansion where you will have the chance to meet your journey partners.

DAY 2: PUNTA ARENAS – ISLA REY JORGE
Beginning of our Antarctic adventure! Flight from Punta Arenas to Isla Rey Jorge, a three hour flight. Once there, we will travel the surroundings of the Chilean base Presidente Eduardo Frei M. and the Russian base Bellingshausen. We will meet on the shores of Fildes Bay to board the M/V “Grigory Mikheev”.

DAY 3 to DAY 6: ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION
As we travel through the Southern Shetland Islands and the Peninsula, crossing fjords and spectacular icebergs, we will enjoy the company of maritime birds, penguins, seals and whales. Our trip to the south could include visits to the most impressive locations of the white continent, such as Punta Hannah, Puerto Lockroy, Isla Petermann, Bahia Paraiso, Isla Cuverville and Isla Decepcion among others. Our expedition will consist of daily disembarking by Zodiac boats, informative talks and great moments aboard.

DAY 7: ISLA REY JORGE – PUNTA ARENAS
Return to Isla Rey Jorge where we will disembark to Fildes Bay at the Chilean Base of Presidente Eduardo Frei M. to make our way to Teniente Marsh airport, where we will board the return flight to Punta Arenas. End of the program upon return to Punta Arenas airport.
