8 Day Highlights of Bolivia
 

A sacred journey between Lake Titicaca and the final goal, the conquest of South America.

Day 1

Transfer from La Paz airport to hotel. In the afternoon Valley of the Moon Tour. La Paz is called the “City of Contrasts” and represents a unique mixture of culture and races. Some of the most important attractions are the Indigenous Markets, Witches Markets, Museum of Tiwanacu, colonial areas and modern sites such as Valley of the Moon. Accommodation in Hotel Presidente (5 stars)

Day 2

Buffet breakfast. In the morning, tour the Tiwanaku ruins. Tiwanaku was the capital of one of the most advanced nations in the past, according to evidence. This civilization developed Aymará through 5 interesting periods reached the peak of its time during 700 AD, in an area of 600,000 km2, and became one of the largest cities with over 100,000 inhabitants. Visit the ruins of the Akapana Kalasasaya  pyramid and underground temple of Kontiki, aqueducts and the famous Puerta del Sol which is carved with symmetrical figures.

Tiwanaku is considered the cradle of American civilization and in 2000 UNESCO declared it "Cultural Heritage of Humanity." 

We continue by bus to discover the Huatajata Andean Eco-Village. Meet the Limachi brothers.Visit the artisans and fisherman villages, admire the Urus-Chipayas culture with its mud houses and floating islands, pre-Inca agricultural land called Takano, Sikakillus and a visit to the salt lake. At night visit the mystical world of the Kallawayas. Alternatively, visit the nocturnal native Alajpacha stars. Dinner by candlelight and folklore shows. Accommodation in Inca Utama Hotel and Spa (5 stars)


Day 3

American breakfast. Hydrofoil cruise to Copacabana where you will visit the shrine and the local market. Going to Isla del Sol, called soft raid from the ruins "Pilcocaina the Temple of the Sun" to the hostel Posada del Inca. Lunch and free time to explore the area. Dinner and overnight in the warm lodge Posada del Inca.


Day 4

Continental breakfast. From the Hydrofoil port through the steps of the Inca and the sacred waters. Lunch will be served in the panoramic restaurant Uma Kollu. Continue by hydrofoil to Huatajata to visit the temple of the sun in the Virgin Island of the Moon. Continuation by bus to Huatajata - La Paz. Accommodation at the Hotel Presidente (5 stars)



Day 5

Buffet breakfast. Transfer for flight to Sucre. Arrive at Sucre and transfer to hotel. Fort he afternoon, visit the city. Sucre is the constitutional capital of Bolivia and is an expression of colonial and modern times. It is one of Bolivias most beautiful cities. Here you can admire the cathedral, churches and the monastery of La Recoleta, San Felipe and Guadalupe, the house of freedom, where Simón Bolívar signed the Declaration of Independence, the Liberty Bell in the convent of San Francisco, the Second University oldest in South America, San Francisco Xavier university museum can also provide good examples of anthropological research, modern and contemporary art. Sucre and Potosi are the most important examples of colonial times and art in the Andes. Sucre was also declared by UNESCO as "historical and cultural legacy of mankind." Accommodations at the Inn of Merced (3 stars)


Day 6

Continental breakfast. Full day excursion to Potosi, with lunch included. Transportation to Tierra del Potosí, for a great tour of the most famous sites and the colonial origins of silver during colonial times. The rich mountain out of the city and according to legend it has produced enough silver to build a solid silver bridge from Potosi to Madrid. Visit the Cathedral, the church and the San Francisco Mint, with its wooden machinery used to make silver coins for Spain during the colony and will have a short visit to a mine, these are the main attractions in this region . Potosi was declared by UNESCO as a historical legacy and CUALTURAL of mankind. Visit to the mine in the program. Return to Sucre for accommodation (3 stars).

Day 7

Continental breakfast. Departure to airport for flight back to La Paz. Arriving in La Paz. In the afternoon free time to go shopping. President Hotel accommodation (5 stars).



Day 8

Buffet breakfast. Transfer to the Aeoropuerto to take your return flight.
