ITINERARY
USHUAIA – PUNTA ARENAS (4 days/ 3 nights)
WEDNESDAY:
Ushuaia
Passengers' check-in in San Martín 245 in Ushuaia between 09:00 h and 16:00 h. We embark in Mare Australis Cruise at 17-18 h. The crew with their captain welcome passengers aboard. Cocktail party with our future cruise mates. Immediately after the ship sets sail for the end of the world. Along the mythical Strait of Magellan it sails around Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. This is the beginning of a Great Adventure.
THURSDAY:
Cape Horn - Wulaia Bay
We sail along Beagle Channel and Murray Channel to disembark in Cape Horn National Park. Cape Horn, an almost 425-metre-high promontory where both Pacific and Atlantic Ocean meet, was discovered in 1616 by the Dutch commercial expedition organized by Isaac Le Maire. It was named after Hoorn, where the expedition had set sail. In the afternoon we disembark in Wulaia Bay, a historical place since it used to be one of the biggest natives' settlement in the region. This place offers a visual unique show due to its vegetation and geography. We reach a viewpoint by walking through the Magellan forest in which there are lengas (Nothofagus pumilio), coihues (Nothofagus dombeyi), Winter's barks and ferns among several species.
FRIDAY:
Günter Plushow Glacier
We disembark in Günter Plushow Glacier for a hike near the glacier and closely appreciate this wonderful millennial ice mass.
SATURDAY:
Magdalena Island - Punta Arenas
Early in the morning we disembark in Magdalena Island, the home of a huge colony of over 120000 Magellan penguins. We can appreciate it while hiking to the lighthouse that guides the different ships on their sailing along the Strait of Magellan. As our visit finishes, we
return to Punta Arenas to disembark at 11:30 h. Our adventure is over.

MONDAY:
Pia Glacier
We sail along the main bend of Beagle Channel to enter Pia Bay and disembark to see the homonymous glacier, belonging to Darwin Range, from the Zodiac.
TUESDAY:
Günter Plushow Glacier - Aguila Glacier
We disembark in Günter Plushow Glacier for a hike near the glacier
and closely appreciate this wonderful millennial ice mass. Then we go to Aguila Glacier Bay to disembark for an easy hike on the beach by
bordering a lagoon until reaching the glacier. Another group can go
deep from the beach into the Magellan forest and then reach the
lagoon and the glacier.
