Day 1
Fly Sydney to Santiago. Overnight in Santiago.

Fly to Easter Island

Day 3
Morning tour to Ahu Akivi with its moais dating back to 1460AD.
See Puna a Pau Hill, a redstone quarry most likely the source of the moais topknots and hairpieces. Transfer to the airport for your midday departure flight to Santiago, Chile. Private transfer upon arrival to your accommodation at Hotel Providencia or similar.
Evening at your leisure. Overnight Santiago.

Day 4
Pick up and drop off at your hotel for half day city tour. The rest of your day at leisure to relax and explore.

Day 5
Day at your leisure. I suggest you take a day trip out to the historical port town of Valparaisso and nearby Vina del Mar. Or maybe a visit to the famous Toro Y Concha vineyards is more appealing. Both of these can be organised for you.

Day 6
Transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Puerto Montt.
Transfer upon arrival north to Puerto Varas and your accommodation. Evening is at your leisure to explore this picturesque lakeside town.

Day 7
Begin the Lakes crossing tour which takes 2 days to reach Bariloche.

The Lakes region is one of the most beautiful areas of Argentina. Majestic Lakes wind their way through Green Mountain Ranges. In the summer time people flock to the area to explore the lakes and mountains of the area. Fishing, canoeing, horse riding and hiking are the most popular pastimes. Winter time sees the area turn into a winter wonderland with world class skiing and nightlife to match.

The Lakes Crossing
The Lakes Crossing from Puerto Varas to Bariloche in Argentina is a must experience in the region. Not just a crossing of one lake, there are three different lakes crossed when crossing the border. From Emerald coloured lakes you cross overland through sub-tropical forests, full of Cypress and Oak trees amongst others. After an overnight stay in the midst of the forest you cross through lakes surrounded by snow capped ancient volcanoes. The highlight would be Todos os Santo Lake on the Chilean side. The emerald coloured waters surrounded by the ancient forests are truly an incredible experience.

Bariloche:
Bariloche is the gateway to the local area. It is a sophisticated town with high quality places to stay, plenty of high restaurants and things to do all year round. Instead of going on an organised trip you can hire a car and explore the area. The day trips will give you that little bit more flexibility.

Overnight Bariloche, Argentina following your afternoon arrival.

Day 9
Day at leisure to relax and explore in Bariloche. The ‘circuito chico’ around the lake is a great days outing.

Day 10
Transfer to the airport for your flight to El Calafate. Transfer upon arrival to your accommodation at the Sierra Nevada Hotel. Evening is at your leisure.

Day 11
Morning pick up for your full day visit to the Perito Moreno Galcier.
Come face to face with one of the worlds largest glaciers.

Day 12-16: Torres Del Paine National Park 
You will be transferred to and met at the Chilean border by a representative of Las Torres Lodge and transferred through to the Torres del Paine National Park.

For the next three days you will have your own private guide showing you the best of this incredible area. Every day you will meet and choose from 25 daily activities, allowing you to tailor your trip according to the way you are feeling at the time.
The stay is fully inclusive of all activities, food and transfers.

Day 17
You will be transferred through to El Calafate airport for your  flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer upon arrival to your accommodation at Dazzler Tritone Hotel or similar.

Day 8
Day at leisure to relax and explore in Buenos Aires. I expect today you may be a little tired. However you may wish to catch a football match. River Plata and Boca Juniors are the favourite teams – I can arrange this for you if desired. Buenos Aires has so many little side streets with delightful cafes and bars to discover. Famous for its antiques you can lose your self in the various European style shopping districts. For evening you have the chance to indulge in some of the best steak barbeque or ‘asado’ restaurants in the world.

Day 19
Morning City Tour visiting the beautiful parks & gardens of Palermo, the charming old city quarter of San Telmo, historic Government House, Congress Building and the famous Recoleta Cemetery - final resting place of Evita.
Enjoy an evening Dinner & Tango Show where you will enjoy a traditional Argentine meal.After dinner the world-class performers will captivate you with their intricate dance steps.

Day 20
Day at leisure in Buenos Aires. A day trip by ferry to Colonia, Uruguay can be arranged and is a wonderful days outing crossing the mouth of the River Plate to a historical cobble-stoned centre point in Uruguay. Evening is at your leisure.

Day 21 
You will be transferred through to Buenos Aires airport for your  flight to Iguazú Transport upon arrival to your accommodation on the Argentinean side of the falls

Iguazu Falls
Foz de Iguaçu (Iguazu Falls), the largest waterfall in the world. Being 3km wide and 80 metres high it’s immense size and power has to seen up close to be believed.

Day 22 
Early departure for a full day visit to the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls (Foz de Iguazu) which boasts the best overall views of this breathtaking natural wonder. In the afternoon visit the brilliant Bird Avery (Parque das Avres) before returning to your hotel.

Apr 23
Half day trip to view Argentinean side of Iguazu Falls. There are two walking tracks on this side, the Superior walk is approximately 40 mins long and takes you to the top of the Falls which offers an incredible view and the Inferior walk is approximately 30 minutes and takes you to the bottom of the Falls.
It is here you will come face to face with the Devil’s Throat, the most powerful part of the Iguazu Falls and only accessible from Argentina.
The highlight of today will be a boat ride up to the mouth of the falls where you will experience its pure force and thunderous sound.

Day 24
Morning Free to revisit the falls. To complete your trip a great option is to take a helicopter ride over the falls. Afternoon private transfer to the airport for flight to Rio de Janeiro.

Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is arguably the most beautiful city in the world. This marvellous city moves to its own energy and beat, fuelled by its thriving beach life and warm climate.

Day 25
Full day city tour of Rio de Janeiro. Pass the world famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches which attract an endless array of locals & visitors alike with their allure of sun, sand and an insight into the true Carioca lifestyle. Take a tram through semi-tropical rainforest up to Christ the Redeemer and experience the spectacular views of Rio de Janeiro.
Travel to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car enjoying the 360 degree view of Rio & its famous beaches at sunset before returning to your hotel.
Evening free - We suggest you have a meal at the Garota de Ipanema bar (The Girl from Ipanema Bar) tonight where the famous song was written by Vinicius de Moraes and Tom Jobim Overnight in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 26

Today is at your leisure to relax and explore in Rio de Janeiro. We suggest that you take an afternoon walk along Ipanema Beach and up to the incredible Copacabana Fort (in between Ipanema and Copacabana Beaches) which was built on the eve of WW1. Relax in the café and enjoy the view of the beach at sunset. Lifeguard post 9 on Ipanema Beach is the place to beach sit with a coconut water, beer and grilled cheese.
Overnight in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 27
The morning is free to relax. Afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Sao Paulo, and a brief layover before your evening flight to Lima Peru. Transfer upon arrival to your accommodation at Casa Andina Hotel Miraflores, Lima.

Day 28
Transfer to the airport for your late morning flight to Cusco. Transfer upon arrival to your accommodation at San Agustin El Dorado Hotel or similar. Afternoon and evening is at your leisure to relax and explore in Cusco. You may wish to try ‘Cuy’ or Guinea Pig which is served as a local delicacy at many of the fine restaurants around Plaza Mayor in the centre of the city.

Day 29
Morning at leisure to explore and shop in Cusco. Afternoon Cusco
city tour including a visit to the Qoricancha Temple & Cathedral.
Continue to the surrounding ruins of Qenko, Tambomachay, Puca-
Pucara & Sacsayhuaman. Evening is at your leisure.
Overnight Cusco.

Day 30
Full day tour to the Sacred Valley. Enjoy a visit to Pisaq and its colourful Indian Market. After lunch continue to Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the Americas & discover its ancient Inca design & original water canals providing the whole town with the sacred waters of the glaciers.
Overnight in Urubamba at La Casona de Yucay Hotel or similar.

Day 31
Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station for your journey to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy a guided tour of the spectacular and mysterious lost city of Machu Picchu which, somehow, remained forgotten for 400 years.

Day 32
Morning at leisure to discover this secret treasure on your own.
Visit includes return transfers to your hotel & entrance to the ruins.
Why not wake early & see the sun rising over Machu Picchu& watch the mist rise over this mountain-top citadel at dawn.
Return to Aguas Calientes for the train to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. Evening is at your leisure.

Transfer from your Hotel to Cusco airport. Flight through to Puerto Maldonado.

Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon Jungle
Upon arrival from Cusco, we will welcome you at the airport and drive you ten minutes to our Puerto Maldonado headquarters.
While enjoying your first taste of the forest in our gardens we wil ask you to pack only the necessary gear for your next few days, and leave the rest at our safe deposit. This helps us keep the boats and cargo light.
Skirting Puerto Maldonado, we drive 20 kms to the Tambopata River Port, entering the Native Community of Infierno.
The forty five minute boat ride from the Tambopata Port to Posada Amazonas will take us into the Community’s Primary Forest Private Reserve. Upon arrival, the lodge manager will welcome you and brief you with important navigation and security tips.
A twenty minute walk from Posada Amazonas leads to the 30 meter scaffolding canopy tower. A banister staircase running through the middle provides safe access to the platforms above.
From atop you obtain spectacular views of the vast expanses of standing forest cut by the Tambopata River winding through the middle. Now and then toucans, parrots or macaws are seen flying against the horizon, or mixed species of flocks of birds landing in the treetop next to you. A daily presentation on the Infierno ecotourism project is available every night from a staff member.

Day 34
After breakfast you depart on a visit further into the jungle. Tres Chimbadas is thirty minutes by boat and forty five minutes hiking from Posada Amazonas. Once there you will paddle around the lake in a catamaran, searching for the resident family of nine giant river otters (seen by 60% of our lake visitors) and other lakeside wildlife such as caiman, hoatzin and horned screamers.
Later you will visit a Macaw Clay lick. This clay lick is only a twenty minute walk from Posada Amazonas. From a hide located about twenty meters away you will see dozens of parrots and parakeets descend on most clear mornings to ingest the clay on a river bank.
Species such as Mealy and Yellow- headed Amazon, Blue-headed Parrot and Dusky headed Parakeet descend at this clay lick. The clay lick is most active at dawn and during the late mornings and mid-afternoons.
After lunch you will visit a centre that specializes in local remedies.
A twenty minute boat drive downriver leads you to a trail designed by the staff of the Centro Ñape. The Centro Ñape is a communal organization that produces medicines out of forest plants and administers them to patients who choose their little clinic. They have produced a trail which explains the different medicinal (and other) uses of selected plants.
In the evening you will have the option of hiking out at night, when most of the mammals are active but rarely seen. Much easier to find are frogs with shapes and sounds as bizarre as their natural histories.

Day 35
After Breakfast you will be transferred by boat from the Posada Amazonas to Tambopata River Port then through to the Puerto Maldonado Headquarters where you can pick up the rest of your luggage.
Transfer Puerto Maldonado Headquarters to the Airport. We will retrace our river and road journey back to Puerto Maldonado, our office and the airport. Depending on airline schedules, this may require dawn departures.
Fly from Puerto Maldonado through to Cusco and change plains for your flight to Juliaca. Transfer upon arrival to the town of Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca and your accommodation at Sonesta Posada Del Inca Hotel or similar.
Overnight Puno.

Day 36
In the morning you will be transferred through to port, where you will board your boat for the trip to Amantani Island. On the journey you will visit the Uros reed Islands.
Tonight you will be staying with the local people in Amantani, lunch will the people you will be staying with, where you will eat the local foods.
There will be some small walks around the island in the afternoon.
For dinner you will eat at the house you are staying at before a party with local music. (B,L,D)

Day 37
Morning boat ride back to Puno. Pick up for your trip to the salt flats. Cross the salt flats towards the south of Julaca, continue through the highlands passing the rich high valley of Alota with great stone formations done by the erosion, to finally reach
Villamar.
Overnight in basic 3* lodging.

Day 38
Drive to Colchani in the shores of Uyuni salt flats, where locals extract salt traditionally. Enter this gigantic white salt lake with over 10,000km2 to "Incahuasi Island", with special habitat and Giant Cactus. Then to Coquesa in the foothills of the Thunupa volcano, to see old mummies and finally to the Tahua in the west.
Overnight in basic lodging.

Uyuni Salt Flats
The Salt plains of Southern Bolivia to one of the driest deserts in the world in the Atacama Desert. It is in total contrast to the Jungle Region that you have just left in Peru. While it is cold at this time of year, it is at its clearest. The colours that abound are incredible. It is one of the most incredible overland trips that you can do. Visiting local towns and staying in traditional Inns along the way.

Overland train from Uyuni to Oruro crossing a big portion of the Bolivian Highlands. Airconditioned coach from Oruro to La Paz (3 hours). Transfer to your accommodation at Naira Inn or similar.

Day 40
Morning at leisure to explore the cobblestone streets of downtown La Paz. Check the witchcraft market and downtown cathedral. Afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Santiago. Transfer to your accommodation at Hotel Providencia or similar.

Day 41
Day at leisure to explore and shop in Santiago. Transfer to the airport for your  flight to Sydney, Australia
